The End of ISD's Second Special Projects Squad

Singapore's Internal Security Department (ISD) comprises three Divisions: the Political Security Division, the Counter-Terrorism Division, and the Services & Support Division.

The Political Security Division currently contains one Contingent, which comprises three squads: the First Special Projects Squad, the Second Special Projects Squad, and the Third Manpower Cultivation Squad. The Contingent also includes a HQ support section.

The Second Special Projects Squad comprises four sections of 7 people each. Each section is led by a Station Inspector, with a First Sergeant as second-in-command. Each section handles multiple operations known as "special projects". The squad as a whole is led by an Assistant Superintendent, with an Inspector as the second-in-command.

We understand that as of 3 March 2024, all four constituent sections of the Second Special Projects Squad have died, or gone out of commission.

1st Section

The 1st Section handled Operation Qadar. All 7 members of the 1st Section have died, at the following times:

• 2 members died by mutual murder-homicide on 18 December 2023 at 12pm.
• The Station Inspector bled to death from his genitalia being bitten off by wild dogs on 18 December 2023 at 10pm.
• 1 member leapt to his death from the top storey of his apartment building on 19 December 2023 at 8am.
• 1 member died from electrocution by a faulty hand-dryer falling onto wet floor on 19 December 2023 at 6pm.
• 1 member succumbed to injuries after 15 days of hospitalisation on 20 December 2023 at 4am.
• 1 member died of sudden pregnancy-related complications on 20 December 2023 at 2pm.
• The final member's foetus was prematurely delivered by emergency Caesarean section. The infant died on 21 December 2023 at 12am.

2nd Section

The 2nd Section handled Operation Hercules.

• The Station Inspector is presumed dead after the charred remains of this phone were found in a nightclub in Ecuador that was bombed amid a gang conflict.
• One member was bitten and dragged by a crocodile into Sungei Pandan Kechil on 6 February 2024. His left arm was later found at East Coast.
• One member was plucked and carried away by a very large bird on 6 February 2024. The bird was later identified as the (thought to be) extinct Haast's eagle.
• The other 4 members are out of commission.

3rd Section

The 3rd Section handled Operation Qisma, which was initiated to investigate the deaths of the 1st Section. This section also took over outstanding components of Operations Qadar and Hercules after the 1st and 2nd Sections died/went out of commission. All 7 members died on 14 February 2023 over the course of 66 minutes, from 3.14am to 4.20am.

The 3rd Section was travelling in a chartered van during heavy rain on a secluded road in Malaysia. The van was struck by a landslide at 3:14am. The Station Inspector was ejected out of the van through the windshield, and buried to death by the landslide. The van left the road into a ponded area, where it became partially submerged. The First Sergeant was trapped in her seat and drowned to death. The van was then pulled back onto the road by unidentified airborne animals, which then rended the roof of the van. The animals dismembered two members to death, and left the other three members immobilised with severe injuries. At 4:20am, the van was struck by lightning and exploded, killing the remaining three members.

4th Section

The 4th Section had been in charge of Operation Providence in 2013, although the membership has changed since that time. This section continued to be in charge of Operation Providence for cleanup purposes after its failure. This section also took over outstanding components of Operations Qadar, Hercules, and Qisma after the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sections died/went out of commission.
All 7 members of the 4th Section have died, at the following times:

• The Station Inspector died on 29 February 2024 at 6am. While he was cooking in his kitchen, the LPG cylinder ruptured and set the kitchen ablaze. The heat warped the kitchen door shut, so he leapt from his balcony to his death.
• 1 member slipped and drowned in his own bathtub on 29 February 2024 at 6pm.
• The First Sergeant died on 01 March 2024 at 6am. While walking in his backyard, the ground beneath him collapsed into a sinkhole, and he was asphyxiated by collapsing earth.
• 1 member was blown off a rooftop and fell over forty stories to her death on 01 March 2024 at 6pm.
• 1 member was crushed by a falling tree while meditating on 02 March 2024 at 6am.
• 1 member tripped and tumbled into a construction site, and was then crushed by a steel girder, on 02 March 2024 at 6pm.
• 1 member died on 03 March 2024 at 6am. After learning of the previous deaths, she had made a scene at the Institute of Mental Health to get herself warded there for her own safety. At 5:55am, she asked the nurse checking in on her for the time, and realised she did not have long to live. At 6am, the lights went out for about 30 seconds, leading to her death by "psychogenic cardiac arrest".
